The Tyranids of Warhammer 40,000 are a race of alien creatures that live for no purpose but to seemingly devour all life in their path. Creeping into the galaxy like a disease creeping through a persons bloodstream, causing pain, death and suffering in their path. Also, they're pretty damn cool looking. The above is a Tyranid Gaunt which make up the bulk of a Tyranid army. They're guided by larger, synaptic creatures. When the synaptic link is broken, the Gaunts revert to an animalistic state.
This is a picture I did on my tablet about a month ago. It took around 10 hours collectively over the course of 3-4 days. There are many things that I think are imperfect about it, but what person doesn't think that of their own drawings and paintings. It's all practice in the end.
